Rev. Dave Kerr
A Little About Me:
I joined the Trinity Team in 1982 and have been Assistant Pastor, Associate, Co-Pastor and now, since 2013, am the Lead Pastor of this historic church. I have been married to my wife, Gayle, for 41 years and we have three children together: Joshua, Joy and Bethany, which now have families of their own. Plus, I am recently grandpa to my one granddaughter, Solace!
I received Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Liberal Studies from CSU Stanislaus, and a Masters of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary, plus have a big background of experience in camping ministry prior to joining Trinity.
I love the water, sailing, tinkering with a variety of projects, working in the yard, and antiques. If I'm not at church in my office, you can probably find me in the kitchen: I LOVE to cook! Our church has a fully licensed industrial quality kitchen that I get caught spending time in frequently.
How Long Have You Worked at Trinity?
34 years. Wait, seriously?
Favorite Drink at Starbucks?
Black ice tea with nothing added...no sweetener, no ice, and no water!
Colossians 3:17-18 - “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”
Something I Love About Trinity?
I love the people at Trinity . . . Period. When I’m with other pastors listening to their experiences with Elders and difficult congregants I always express my love for our congregation. I truly believe that Trinity United is very unique as congregations go, and consider myself extremely blessed to be called to serve the people of this congregation.
My Go-To Smartphone App?
I really enjoying listening to Pastor Tim Keller teach through the Redeemer app on my iPad. He sharpens and stretches both my own faith, and my own preaching style a ton!
